Activity: Hg1 was a highly selective Kv1.3 channel inhibitor with weak affinity for other potassium channels. Hg1 also function as trypsin inhibitors with dissociation constants of 107 nM.
Bioassay: Hg1 inhibited Kv1.3 channel currents with IC50 values of 6.2+1.2 nM.
Hg1 is the first characterization of a scorpion Kunitz-type potassium channel toxin family, which contains seven new members and can inhibit both potassium channelsand trypsin. rHg1 at a concentration of 100 nM had a
significant inhibitory effect onKv1.3 channels.
