Carboxypeptidases B

Carboxypeptidase B is also called peptidyl-L-lysine hydrolase, L-lysine hydrolase, and pancreatic carboxypeptidase B. It can hydrolyze the basic amino acid at the C-terminus in proteins, like Lysine (Lys, K), Arginine (Arg, R), and Histidine (His, H). It has a molecular weight of 33.9 kDa, and isoelectric point of 6.0, and its optimal pH range is from 7.5 to 9.0. The activity of carboxypeptidase B is inhibited by metal ion chelators(EDTA), and is subject to competitive inhibition by arginine and lysine. In addition, this enzyme is not inhibited by di-isopropylfluorophosphate (DFP).

Our recombinant CPB is expressed in E.coli, and produced under GMP regulations. This enzyme is free of any animal-derived components and eliminates the risk of viral contamination from animal sources. Morebio recombinant CPB has the same amino acid sequence as rat pancreatic carboxypeptidase B, and possesses the same enzymatic properties as the animal-derived enzyme. This makes it useful as a substitute in various biotechnological processes.
